Diane Ladd, Infinity Award

Diane Ladd was an American actor, director, writer and author. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, she won numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, appearing in over 200 films and television shows. spanning over 70 years. Ms. Ladd was related to playwright Tennessee Williams. She was married to actor Bruce Dern, and their daughter is Oscar-winning actor Laura Dern. Ms. Ladd made her film debut in Something Wild and received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for the role of “Flo” in Martin Scorsese’s Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore for which she won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress. Ladd’s other film credits include Chinatown, All Night Long, Wild At Heart, and Rambling Rose for which Ladd and Laura Dern made history as the first mother/daughter team to be nominated for an Academy Award.

 

Ms. Ladd made her Broadway debut in Carry Me Back To Morningside Heights in 1968, and received a Drama Desk Nomination for A Texas Trilogy: Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander. She appeared alongside her own mother, actor Mary Lanier, in the independent screwball comedy Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss. Ms. Ladd won a Golden Globe Award and Emmy Nomination for a guest appearance on the TV series Alice. Ms. Ladd was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress 3 times, and received a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, along with Bruce and Laura Dern. This was the first time a family received joint Walk of Fame STARS.

Ms. Ladd was a ministerial consultant with a certificate in nutrition and a masters in Esoteric Psychology.
