In this excerpt, through music and spoken word, Karen honors women and also reflects
on the women in her family, particularly her mother.

Karen A Clark, producer of the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center, is an actor, singer, songwriter, and producer . Clark’s one-woman theatrical show, The Women, has been featured since 2013 locally at the Ivy Substation (home of The Actor’s Gang), The Electric Lodge, Citizen, and The Fremont Centre Theatre. 

Karen serves on the following Boards of Directors: Educating Young Minds, Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Center, Streetlights Production Assistant Training Program, and the Duke Media Foundation. She is an Advisory Board Member of the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival. Most days, she creates and executes marketing strategies to attract diverse clients to City National Bank. As the Multicultural Strategy Manager, she also oversees diversity and inclusion strategies internally.

Karen A. Clark was named one of the “Top 20 Black Female Power Players in L.A. Business” by Focus Magazine in 2012 and received a Diversity Leadership Award from the California and National Diversity Councils in 2015. Clark is a frequent speaker on Diversity and Inclusion topics including “Inclusive Leadership,” “Race & Privilege” and “Personal Branding.”
