During COVID-19, a woman’s journey rejects patriarchy, perfection and guilt to find her way back to herself.
JANICE CRENETI (Creator, Writer, Performer) is an award-winning actor and director with four decades of experience. She has appeared in over 100 productions including live theater, TV and film. Favorite acting credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), Lysistrata (Lysistrata), Vanya and Sonia & Masha and Spike (Sonia), God of Carnage (Veronica), and Crimes of the Heart (Babe). Favorite directing credits include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Becky’s New Car and Dog sees God. As Artistic Director of West Coast Players Theatre, she brought the first productions to the stage centering stories of Black and LGBTQ communities. She learned the power and process of personal storytelling through her work with Fran Powers and Powerstories Theater of Tampa, directing the first two seasons of their Girlstories Theatre program (winner of a 2010 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award), directing women’s’ shows in their SheVolution series, and becoming a certified facilitator of their Seek and Speak Your Story program. Janice spent 35 years in public schools as a high school teacher then instructional coach working with teachers and educational leaders to address the opportunity gap. She was recognized for that work with a national SIM Leadership Award from the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. She co-developed and collaborates on the CreateAWorld YouTube series which interviews individuals who have created programs that celebrate and elevate humanity’s potential for good. As the founder of the Fertile Voice, Janice seeks to leverage the power of embracing our personal stories and our emotional journeys as a vehicle for social change, personal transformation and creating a more loving, empowered world. http://www.JaniceCreneti.com
